What inspired you to launch your business?

I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit since my first job of mowing lawns. Once I chose a career path that I was excited and passionate about, I knew it was always the plan to open my clinic. I was very blessed to learn lessons right out of school that set me up for a successful launch into practice on my own.

What is your passion?

My passion is improving the health of our community. Many would see my job title as a chiropractor and think that it is strictly Chiropractic that I'm speaking of, but that's one piece of the big picture. We need direction and leadership teaching us how to live our healthiest lives. I want people to feel empowered about their health. I want people to talk and think about promoting health from within and not strictly treatment or prevention.

How do you start your day?

I start my day by listening to a podcast and what I listen to depends on what I feel like my mindset or attitude needs to be for that day. I also get to work early because planning and preparation are essential for not just my success as a business owner but also for my team as well. The better prepared we are, the more ready we are for the day's challenges and twists and turns.

Favorite local businesses?

I love food, so most of my answers are going to be restaurants. Luminary, El Dorado Taqueria, Vele, and Grab-a-Java. Floyd Imports are way up there too.

What do you deem as success in business?

Business success is the alignment of my vision story, core beliefs, and behaviors. These are my pursuit in the present because I naturally focus on the future and what is next. Our vision story is so dynamic and changing so rapidly that just trying to be grateful in the moment and present for those successes is my big focus. A vital question anybody can ask themselves. My mentor always says, "be careful how you define success because you'll spend the rest of your life pursuing it."

What is your number one piece of advice for business owners?

My number one advice for business owners is clearly defining what success means and having clarity, focus, and constant momentum in that pursuit. I love Rockefeller's quote, "successful people do the common things uncommonly well."
