The Storyteller Studios celebrates a decade in business
Award-winning The Storyteller Studios, is celebrating 10 years in business this month.
Springfield native Josh Hester launched The Storyteller Studios from his hometown in 2013 with one goal; to help companies and causes tell their story, move more people, and build their brands through high-quality, cinematic, story-driven video production.
“It works. Our client list started with just a few brave friends who were excited about the idea and were willing to trust me with the stories they wanted to tell. That client list has grown to almost 300 local, regional, and national companies and nonprofits of every shape and size. I’ve learned a lot and have gotten opportunities I could never have anticipated. It’s challenging, to be sure, but immensely rewarding. Every day is a new adventure,” said Josh, executive producer, and principal, of The Storyteller Studios.
Now his team has grown to include two producers, Chris Costello and Kevin Christensen, associate producer Payton McCabe, and production assistant Jared Treece.
The team’s work has taken them not just across the country but around the globe.
“As I reflect on 10 years and think about key milestones, they’ve been those moments our current team members decided to join me. I could not be prouder of their talent, work and how they do it, and the opportunity to call them teammates and friends. I admire them so much. This may have been my little idea, but they have made it what it is and will continue to,” said Josh.
In Springfield, The Storyteller Studios has been involved with the production of visitor videos for our state historic sites, advocacy, and awareness videos for nonprofits like Springfield Ballet Company, the Illinois Pork Association, Hope Learning Academy and Autism Clinics, marketing and branding videos for small businesses, healthcare, and economic development efforts of the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance.
In its time, The Storyteller Studios has received a host of industry accolades, including, but not limited to Emmys, Telly Awards, and Communicator Awards.
Josh believes everyone has a story to tell, but financial restraints should not prevent nonprofits from telling it. So, the team created Stories Untold. The philanthropy program partners with worthy causes to share their stories to help raise awareness of their organization, recruit volunteers, and increase funds, ultimately.
“These have been some of our favorite projects over the years. It’s an honor for us to give back this way, and really, our obligation as members of this community.”
