Illinois Local teams up with AlignLife of Springfield Chiropractic to collect items for Compass for Kids at the annual Illinois Local Holiday Market
Illinois Local and AlignLife of Springfield Chiropractic have joined forces to collect items for Compass for Kids at the Illinois Local Holiday Market on Small Business Saturday.
Marketgoers can donate snacks and children’s gloves to Compass for Kids, a Springfield-based non-profit, and leave these under the Illinois Local Holiday Market Tree of Joy, sponsored by AlignLife of Springfield Chiropractic, on Saturday, November 30.
“We are so excited to sponsor the first Illinois Local Holiday Market Tree of Joy to collect much-needed items for Compass for Kids,” said AlignLife of Springfield Chiropractic owner Dr. Bryne Willey.
The Illinois Local Holiday Market will host 70+ vendors, Santa, Bluey & Bingo, a golf simulator, a photo booth, and hot food and drinks.
“We have worked with the team at Compass for Kids previously and are so thankful for the positive impact it makes on the most vulnerable in our community,” said Gemma Long, Illinois Local co-owner. "It only made sense to team up with AlignLife of Springfield Chiropractic, which is also a supporter of Compass for Kids, to help make a difference."
Compass for Kids operates three programs for children in Springfield School District 186. Camp Compass is a summer camp to prevent learning loss among low-income students. Club Compass is an after-school program focused on social-emotional development and the Youth Leadership Development Program for Compass middle and high school alumni helps students graduate and achieve their dreams.
“Compass for Kids is honored to be the beneficiary of the Tree of Joy sponsored by AlignLife of Springfield Chiropractic at the Illinois Local Holiday Market,” said Sarah Oglesby, Compass for Kids chief operating officer. “The commitment of Illinois Local and AlignLife of Springfield Chiropractic to uplift the community through thoughtful, meaningful support will impact the children and families served by Compass for Kids. Illinois Local and AlignLife of Springfield Chiropractic are bringing people together to give back and reminding us of the power of community.”
The Illinois Local Holiday Market Tree of Joy will be at the Compass for Kids booth on Saturday, November 30, from 9 am to 4 pm in the Expo Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
Entry to the market is $5. 12 and under free.
Entertainment includes performances from Springfield Youth Performance Group, Dayna's Dance Revolution, and Illinois Symphony Youth Orchestra.
