What inspired you to launch your business?
I’ve always had a love for “junking” and home decor. I come from a long line of entrepreneurs, and I’ve dabbled in different side hustles over the years. Junking and home styling is my “therapy” of sorts, and I decided it was time to share my passion with others. So, in the middle of a global pandemic, Collected was born.
What is your passion?
Home decor is unique to everyone. I am passionate about helping style your spaces so that they tell a story. I love finding pieces with lots of character that just are not seen every day in the big box stores. Mixing old and new styles and re-styling spaces to create a home that feels lived in and cozy is important to me.
How do you start your day?
I always try to start my morning by focusing on the positives in my life. Then, I have coffee, of course. I love Smart Owl Coffee Immune Blend or an iced lavender latte from Hawthorn Tree to help kick start my day.
Favorite local business to support?
I love discovering new local shops. Olde, Country Gypsy, Whiskey River Dry Goods, Brave Hazel, Crowe Boot & Shoe, and Hawthorn Boutique are a few of my favorites if you find yourself in Carlinville, IL.
What do you deem as success in business?
I would call my business successful because I am having fun and building connections with clients. This business is a creative outlet for me, and when those things stop, it is time to move on.
